The Crown Inn Roecliffe has been serving Ales since the 16th Century, to travellers passing through to York on horseback and in Coaches, on one single dirt track road. Refurbished by the Mainey’s in 2008 and traded for 10 years until bursting at the seams, it was sold in 2018. It eventually closed down in 2022.

Well, the Mainey’s have decided to take the reins once more and bought back this old Coaching Inn again, in June of this year. They sanded the old beams, polished the old floors, repainted in Farrow & Ball colours and got the Crown Inn looking just as it used to be. Karl is back at the stoves once more, with a new team of chefs and some of the old favourite dishes, alongside lots of new stuff. Expect lots of seafood specials, pub classics and one or two surprises!
